Accountant

Reporting – This position reports to the Accounting Manager.  Department manager will prioritize and assign tasks as outlined in this document and any other tasks as needed.

AP Email – In charge of going through AP email inbox regularly.  Accurately organizing/moving invoices from email to the TBE (To Be Entered) folder or the Waiting For Receipt folder.  This includes all PO and non-PO invoices.  Move and file email in correct email folder for vendor when complete.  This includes all credit card charges.

Data Entry – Accurately enter all AP invoicing/credit memos and credit card charges into Sage with correct coding and posting date.   

Vendor Statements – Go through monthly statements provided by vendor.  Communicate with vendor regarding discrepancies and missing invoices/credit memos.

Credit Card – Maintain monthly credit card spreadsheet. Enter and post receipts to Sage when they are sent over from Purchasing.  Look up other reoccurring charges, save invoice to vendor folder, enter in Sage and post.  Reconcile the Credit Card Payable spreadsheet with this at the end of every month. 

Purchases Clearing Report – Pull report at various times throughout the month and clean it up.  Communicate with vendor on missing invoices but check in email vendor folder 1st.  Communicate with Purchasing for necessary PO changes i.e. receipts or returns of inventory items.  Some diligent research on these items may be necessary.

AP Reconciliation – Pull Aged Invoice/Trial Balance reports for AP at the end of every month after all invoices are entered.  Make sure these two balances tie.  If not, go through reports and make necessary changes.  Update spreadsheet with GL balance.

Check Run – weekly check run for ACH, Wires, and/or checks.

Payroll – timecard verification and posting, bi-weekly payroll through ADP, monthly accruals, help with new hires and benefits, pulling quarterly reports, also some HR duties/employee records.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting or related field required and/or commensurate experience as a full charge bookkeeper
  • 5+ years’ experience in human resources, payroll or accounting
  • Excellent mathematics and communications skills
  • Experience with payroll system software
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality

Mechanical Assembly Technician

We are looking for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to support our Production, Engineering, and Research efforts. This Tech will spend most of their time working on mechanical assembly, parts inspection and cleaning, and vacuum assembly for production laser systems and engineering/research projects. Duties also include bonding of optical assemblies, packing systems for shipment, incoming inspections of mechanical parts against prints, maintaining organization of the assembly area tools and supplies, documentation of subassembly builds and test results, updating work instructions, and other duties as assigned.

Required skills and experience:

  • Experience with mechanical assembly in a high-tech, low-volume environment
  • Ability to work with various small hand tools/power tools to perform mechanical assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly diagrams
  • Personable and friendly with good work ethic
  • Experience using MS-Word and MS-Excel
  • Familiarity with cleaning and assembly best practices for high-vacuum equipment
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Experience with laser systems
  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems

Hours are Monday through Friday 8 to 5, schedule negotiable.

Job status is full time with a 90-day probationary period.

Inventory/Production Support Specialist

Production Scheduling – Updating and maintain a detailed build schedule for products in-build.  Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels. Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.  Manage deadlines based on project expectations.

Incoming Inspection – Inspects and approves incoming materials by visually confirming specifications match drawings. Communicates required adjustments to production supervisor. Follows process to identify and forward all materials that require further inspection to the appropriate location.

Receiving – Accepts and signs for deliveries from vendors, opens boxes and inspects contents of shipments. Checks shipping invoice to ensure all items are accounted for. Accurately receives items into ERP system. Tag and shelve delivery items in a timely manner. Processes returns for any defective or incorrect items daily as needed. Scan and file all receipt of delivery paperwork daily.  

Purchasing Support - Weekly inventory of Kitchen, Kanban and office supplies is required. These orders should be placed on an as needed basis. Requests from staff for specific items should be held and sent with the weekly order as needed.

Reporting Research – Weekly reports are pulled and assigned for research and correction. These reports require completion within the week they are assigned. Reports may vary per the needs of the department and business.

Parts Kitting – Generate work order pick lists and kit parts as needed to build in accordance with the schedule.  Run regular shortage reports and prioritize addressing shortages in accordance with the build schedule.  Issue additional parts as needed for builds and service.

Electrical Engineer - Laser System Development

The Senior Electrical Engineer will spend the majority of their time architecting, designing, and prototyping control assemblies and subassemblies with analog, digital, and power distribution content for next-generation femtosecond laser systems.  Additional activities include  embedded and control software development, assembly, integration, and test documentation, supplier management, transfer to manufacturing, and troubleshooting complex electronics and system problems.

General Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree desirable
  • 2+ years of control and electrical system architecture and subsystem design and development for complex commercial or scientific instruments; laser system experience desirable
  • Experience coordinating development of firmware to control and monitor a number of optical and electrical components within one integrated system
  • Experience with entire product development lifecycle from design through prototyping, debugging and manufacturing phases
  • Experience meeting objective project timeline and costs
  • Experience managing electronic component suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Capable with LabVIEW for control software development
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving electronics related system issues
  • Experience developing assembly, integration, and test documentation and hardware specifications
  • Electrical assembly box architecture, with thermal management understanding
  • Experienced in analog/digital/RF low noise design, simulation and implementation
  • Substantial experience in power electronics
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Experience with Altium, Autocad, Solidworks desirable
