Wyvern NOPA

10-200kHz Ultrafast Broadband Parametric Amplifier System

The Wyvern-NOPA™ is a non-collinear visible OPA.  It is a simple single pass system, in a very small package.  The NOPA is pumped by frequency doubling a standard Wyvern™ ultrafast amplifier system from 780nm to 390nm.  The blue conversion is integrated with the NOPA for a small easy-to-use package.  Tuning is from a center wavelength of 475nm to 700nm, and bandwidths of >150nm (centered at 625nm), which supports ~5 fs pulses.

Energy output for the single pass system is as high as 2µJ at the center wavelength of 1250nm.  Tuning is accomplished by adjusting the timing overlap and the OPA crystal angle.  ≈10% conversion efficiency is achieved in a two pass design.

Typical tuning curve of the Wyvern-NOPA™ at 100kHz:

475nm-700nm spectral, and energy tuning curve, at 100kHz repetition rate:

@ 510 nm Δλ = 30nm

1.5 hrs at 100kHz

Energy output for the single pass system is as high as 500nJ at the center wavelength of 600nm.  Tuning is accomplished by adjusting the timing overlap and the NOPA crystal angle.  This allows very broadband operation, with ~10% conversion efficiency (from the blue pump), in a single pass.

†Performance only valid for Wyvern™ pumped NOPA system.
1)In broadband mode, with proper compression.  Compression scheme may
affect output energy and average power.
2)Depends on tuning, i.e. narrow or broadband mode and central wavelength. 3)Size of NOPA head (this dimension does not include support electronics).
